Producer/Director Kathy Curtiss has served as the Artistic Director of Renaissance Now Theatre and Film for the last 14 years. She currently lives & directs in New York, producing work for RNTF at New York’s Theatre Row, and The Chain.  She has directed for The Scandinavian-American Theatre Company, The Oberon Theatre, The Drilling Company for New Works (Shakespeare at Bryant Park, and Shakespeare in the Parking Lot), and the Michael Chekhov Theatre. Renaissance Now develops new work in both film and theatre, sponsoring independent and short film. Kathy directs experimental work, exploring contemporary text in updated classics & theatrical movement in Shakespeare and visual film. She has directed fight choreography in various settings including New York at the University.  Kathy has taught in a number of BFA programs nationwide, including The New York Film Academy (both acting and film directing), Five Towns College, the University of California, University of Utah, Ball State. She has been a department chair, director of an acting BFA, head of Voice/Movement program, and taught both directing and stage combat extensively, including teaching for NYFA internationally in Rio de Janiero and Abu Dhabi.  Kathy has been a member of SAG, Dramatist’s Guild, and is twice recognized by the Society of American Fight Directors.
